Art for Memory is a free class designed for people experiencing early stages of memory loss, whatever the reason.
Run by an experienced tutor alongside a fantastic support worker, each week new creative skills are enjoyed including different methods of printmaking, watercolour painting, clay work and collage. Painting to music is a regular favourite and just as important as the art activity itself, we always have time for tea, coffee, biscuits and a jolly good chat!
There is no expectation that members of the group have to take part in the activity planned – working on your own painting, honing your drawing skills, bringing your knitting or crochet and just enjoying being creative is actively encouraged and you will be supported to do this.
“I find it really relaxing and it goes so quickly because you get absorbed in what you are doing. I find it relaxing and calm … the company’s nice”.
“It is nice to feel that you are not coping on your own”.
