Artslink activities have now ceased but we hope that the experiences we shared together will live on in your memories and hearts for years to come.
It was with great sadness that the following statement was made in June 2021:
Statement from the Chair of Trustees of Sherborne Arts Link –
“On behalf of the Trustees of Sherborne Arts Link I am writing to report our decision to close the charity in September 2021.
This has been an extremely difficult and considered decision. It has been taken now to give us the best opportunity to work towards sustaining as much of our activity as possible, through others, into the future. We will be looking to pass on our financial legacy to organisations whose charitable objectives align with our own.
Arts Link has delivered many activities and special projects over the past 40 years, bringing arts and culture directly to the community. Our heartfelt thanks go out to everyone who has been involved during those years – to our donors, funders and supporters, our dedicated volunteers and tutors and especially to our staff.
We remain fully committed to the ethos and purpose of Arts Link and will do our utmost to ensure that any future plans build on the extraordinary work of the charity and secure a legacy that continues to enhance and improve lives through access to the arts and culture.”
We say THANK YOU to everyone who has contributed, supported, participated and been part of our creative family over the years. It has been an amazing time!
Helping people experience a better quality of life through creative engagement
News! Activities available under new management!
Update 22 September 2021
As ArtsLink bows out we have been very busy talking to funders, tutors, other arts organisations and are delighted to share with you the following:
Art Classes are available again! Tutor and artist James Budden has taken up the reins and is relaunching his classes at the Digby Hall in September. Other amazing tutors such as Susan R Hughes and Alex Cree are joining him. Choose from Oils, Portraiture, Life Drawing ….. and more!
Also, Parkinson’s Dance, Art for Memory and Art for Parents start again in September under the management of another established Dorset art organisation. Initially, people who have previously attended have been invited to rejoin, but it is hoped to open these art and wellbeing groups up to new people in the future.
